Inspiring Lives of Service
By Serving Up “TIC Pie”

Eric H. Plasker, D.C.

TCL could easily have honored Dr. Plasker for his extraordinary success with his book, The 100-Year Lifestyle, and the changes it has brought about in the lives of over half a million people. There is no doubt his book, and his practice model, The Family Practice, are spreading ‘TIC around the world by speaking to more people than Dr. Plasker ever could in person.

What people may not know about Dr. Plasker, though, is that he also donates extraordinary amounts of his time and energy to personally connecting with audiences of prospective student and their families, inspiring them to choose a career in chiropractic. He doesn’t stop there, either. Once those students are in chiropractic school, he is directly involved in the Life U Family Practice Club. He meets with them regularly, even having dinners for them, and guides their development as practitioners of a Vitalistic approach to health and wellness, and as professionals dedicated to living long and productive lives of service and success.

TCL: For which professional achievements will you most want to be acknowledged?

Plasker: For Chiropractic Pie Building.

For nearly 30 years, I have personally, and through my company The Family Practice, been committed to the vision of Lifetime Care for Everyone. This vision is what we like to call,Chiropractic Pie Building.”

There are four aspects to Chiropractic Pie Building:

  1. Attracting more people, the masses, to the Vitalistic chiropractic lifestyle
  2. Increasing the success of individual chiropractors
  3. Increasing the size of the profession by inspiring more people to become chiropractors
  4. Creating a culture of giving back to the profession

Chiropractic Pie Building is very different than pie slicing. We have so many pie slicers in the profession who believe that there are too many chiropractors, not enough patients to go around and not enough resources to sustain their desired quality of life. Nothing could be further from the truth. The problem is that these doctors are pie slicers and not pie builders.

Through our best-selling books, The 100 Year Lifestyle, and the business model, marketing, patient education and training resources in The Family Practice, we have seen chiropractors’ individual pies expand significantly, to the tune of more than $500 million growth over the past two decades. While this is exciting and we are doing our best work ever, it is not enough to accomplish the LIFE vision.

Through LIFE Leadership Weekend, Life University has created the ultimate Pie Building playing field and an exciting opportunity to contribute at the highest level to creating lifetime patients and building the profession. Being part of the LIFE Leadership Weekend program enables me to accomplish all four aspects of Chiropractic Pie Building at the same time.

The LIFEforce 1000 doctors and staff at Life University do an amazing job attracting people who are exposed to the big idea, prepping prospective students and inspiring them to explore the possibility of chiropractic as a career. Dr. Riekeman does a phenomenal job on Friday mornings of LIFE Leadership Weekends and I am blessed with the opportunity to deliver the Keynote speech that, for many people, seals the deal on their realization that the chiropractic profession is for them.

To speak to generations of a family sitting together during this talk, where the prospective students are evaluating their possible career choice – and while the parents are evaluating the quality of the institution, the profession and the investment for their child – is a responsibility that I welcome and cherish. If you are not a LIFEforce 1000 doctor or have not heard this talk, you should become a LIFEforce 1000 doctor and attend. You will love it!

When I wrote The 100 Year Lifestyle, I realized through its success that I was onto something huge. By sharing my message in a book, I was able to reach more people than ever and speak to their core values in a way that caused them to want to participate in lifetime chiropractic care as part of their lifestyle, twenty-four hours a day, even while I was sleeping. We even had many people tell us that reading this book inspired them to become chiropractors.

To have the impact in the world that our great principle and profession is destined to have, we need more chiropractors maximizing the expression of the perfection within. As the mission of the LIFEforce 1000 program states, “We will not rest until every person has access to chiropractic care and a chiropractic education.”

TCL: What projects are you working on now (or have worked on recently) that you are most excited about and would like more people to know about?

Plasker: We are stepping on the lifetime patient-creating accelerator pedal. The Family Practice has just built a Content Marketing System that is enabling doctors to attract more committed lifetime patients to their practices while we deliver a consistent lifetime chiropractic care message to the world. Combining this technology with The 100 Year Lifestyle brand and chiropractic content is attracting more committed lifetime patients from day one and repositioning the value of chiropractic in the market. The results have been amazing for the doctors and the impact that the system is having is growing exponentially. Any doctor who shares our vision would be excited to get involved.

Working with Life University and the team at Life Leadership Weekend is one of the most important vehicles to accomplish our mission, which is so important for the profession and humanity. The best news of all is that we have momentum and at the same time, we are just getting started.
