New Center Redefines the Edges

Quietly, once a year for the last eight years, a conference has occurred in a 30×40 foot room on the third floor of the Sport Health Science building at Life U. In attendance each year are 20 different experts and academicians.

The conference is Life U’s think tank, the Octagon. The topics have ranged from Vitalism as a basis for a new national healthcare policy to Integrity and Citizenship. These conversations have resulted in profound white papers, support from the Dalai Lama and major universities, but most substantially, two major centers have been created at Life U.

• The Center for Compassion, Integrity and Secular Ethics is already in operation and conducting programs like the Chillon Project, aimed at reversing prison recidivism in the USA.
• A new center for healthcare policy will be in operation this Fall. This Octagon center will apply our principles of neo-Vitalism to design national healthcare policy reform and offer practical alternatives to medical-only health systems.

The first conference produced by the new center will be on a solution to the opioid crisis and the role of Chiropractic in this national debate.
