Running the Gamut
From Practice to Investments

Janice Hughes, D.C.

Chiropractic practice has long been a paragon of the entrepreneurial spirit, since most DCs find their greatest success and satisfaction in building their own private practices. For some chiropractors, though, entrepreneurial passion – and the opportunities for inspiring growth and success in others, as well as themselves – can equal their passion for patient care or chiropractic philosophy. Dr. Hughes made history by custom-designing a program (along with fellow Masters Circle consultant Elisa Zinberg, D.C.) to address the challenges and opportunities that are unique to women in chiropractic. Her latest venture, as director of investments at Curemark, LLC, takes her into altogether new realms.

TCL is pleased to recognize Dr. Hughes for leaving no stone unturned in the expression of the perfection that resides within her and those with whom she works, whether as a chiropractor, a coach, or a business associate. It has been said that America is the land of second acts – and Dr. Hughes exponentially exemplifies that sentiment. Her implementation of chiropractic philosophy – with the clear understanding that all change comes and all wealth begins from within – across such a variety of applications well qualifies her for honor as one of our Entrepreneurs and Innovators.

TCL: For which professional achievements will you most want to be acknowledged?

Hughes: My work with Curemark LLC, a biotech startup focused on developing drug treatments that focus on removing or offsetting the neurological interference seen in such conditions as autism, Parkinson’s, etc., where I currently serve as director of investments. Also, my work as an “action coach” and change agent focused on removing interference to optimal performance in individuals and in the workplace. I’m also co-author (with Aileen Miga, CFP) of Inspired Wealth – Financial Leadership for the 21st Century, which is – as we say in the opening line – “a guide that takes individuals to a new level of interactions with money, leading to a more balanced life and the fulfillment of meaningful life goals.” Finally, I’d like to be remembered for expansive transition through multiple stages of my career.

TCL: What projects are you working on now (or have worked on recently) that you are most excited about and would like more people to know about?

Hughes: Curemark, LLC continues to provide new opportunities investigation for our work in the field of autism and other unmet neurological needs. I’m excited to be developing a new company that will be launched again based on other scientific discoveries and intellectual property.

TCL: What else would you like to share with TCL readers?

Hughes: That I’ve been happily married for twenty-six years, have three wonderful sons, and look forward to a joyful future.
