A Hearty Serving in Practice

The Café of Life
Serving Up a Hearty Practice Model

Arno Burnier, D.C.

For anyone who wishes to escape the energetic component of the life force that is flowing through us, and chiropractic’s role in positively affecting that flow, Dr. Burnier will challenge your perspective with the same gentleness he “makes love to the spine.” Perhaps it is not surprising that a man who practices his profession by giving without expectation of return or reward has put together one of the most loving and humane ways for new doctors to enter practice. In a profession that is all too often accused, and all too often with good reason, of eating its young, Dr. Burnier is a light in the what must all too often feel like a wilderness to newly graduated doctors of chiropractic.

While we recognize Dr. Burnier for his deeply affecting work connecting chiropractors to a higher purpose, TCL is pleased to honor him for his work in creating the Café of Life way of practice that provides newly graduated doctors with a low cost model for getting their doors open and start changing patients – and their own – lives for the better right away.

Allie Evans, DC

TCL: For which professional achievements will you most want to be acknowledged?

Evans: The achievements I want to be acknowledged for have nothing to do with numbers, stats or awards. I’d like to be acknowledged for the deep connection I have with my patrons. I feel that as a facilitator for healing, connecting with people on a soul level and focusing on the healing capacity within each person is most important. My mission is for healing to take place on all levels – physical, emotional and spiritual. I want to be known for being a staple in the community as well as the high number of lifetime patrons who receive care from me and truly get the chiropractic philosophy.

TCL: What projects are you working on now (or have worked on recently) that you are most excited about and would like more people to know about?

Evans: I enjoy mentoring chiropractors and would like to foster that through seminars in the near future. In addition, I have a passion for working with people with disabilities. My previous career was in the rehabilitation services industry and I feel that this is an underserved population within the chiropractic profession. I currently work with a variety of people with disabilities but I would like to expand upon that. I especially love working with children with autism.

TCL: For which professional achievements will you most want to be acknowledged?

Peabody: Day-to-day family chiropractic Café of Life office…I think that is accomplishment enough, right?

TCL: What projects are you working on now (or have worked on recently) that you are most excited about and would like more people to know about?

Peabody: I work hard to help people discover a healthy lifestyle however also encourage them to live life full out. I have blogged about my personal and professional adventures for years and get feedback that the writing inspires others to do the same. I am also about to embark on the ICPA certification after being in practice 10 years. I have taken a few modules but am looking forward to being certified in what I love to do most, work with the pregnant moms, infants and children.

April Warhola, DC, CAC

section7-453-multiclinics-burnier-warhola

TCL: For which professional achievements will you most want to be acknowledged?

Warhola: I opened a Café of Life healing center in 2013 that brought holistic practitioners from several disciplines together under one roof, including midwifery, yoga, family counseling, personal training and massage therapy.

TCL: What project are you working on now (or have worked on recently) that you are most excited about and would like more people to know about?

Warhola: Most recently, I completed a 200-hour course and international certification exam for animal chiropractic. The focus is primarily on canine, feline and equine chiropractic. I was recently asked what species (including humans!) that I enjoy adjusting the most, and I honestly could not give one answer. The change that happens with a chiropractic adjustment is universal in its infinite capacity to create change, and its specificity to do so based on each individual’s needs. Whether it’s a three-day-old baby or a sixteen year old dog, giving these beings a choice that may have not been possible previously is endlessly gratifying.
